About the Sons of AMVETS Squad 1928

Who we are.....

Highly motivated Volunteers and Participants in
serving Veterans at AMVETS!

As a Son of AMVETS 1928 you can enjoy all of the benefits of the canteen at the Post and are welcome to play the games of chance. The Canteen offers adult beverages, entertainment, and special celebrations.  Membership entitles you to entry into Posts all over the country and opportunities to travel with the Sons to National Memorial sites for low cost.

We, as the Sons, sponsor and prepare Dinners for the Post as well as fund raise and engage in projects to aid Veterans.

AIMS & PURPOSES of “The Sons”

  • To serve our country in peace and in times of war; to build and maintain the welfare of the United States of America toward lasting prosperity and peace for all its inhabitants.
  • To encourage the establishment of a concrete plan to secure permanent international peace and to assist in maintaining global stability that is in keeping with our Government’s policies.
  • To inspire in our membership a sense of responsibility, to develop leadership for preserving our American democratic way of life, and to help unify divergent groups in the overall interest of American democracy.
  • To aid in fulfilling the aims, purposes and interests of AMVETS (American Veterans), or parent organization, and to cooperate with all duly recognized veterans organizations to further the aims of the American Veteran.
  • To train our youth to become purposeful citizens in a democracy with full knowledge of the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship.
  • To keep the American public forever reminded that the veteran served to preserve peace, liberty, and democracy for our nation.
  • To promote the welfare and fellowship of our members and their families.
  • To recognize that the organization, known as AMVETS, was chartered by Congressional action on July 23, 1947

Challenge

As a Veterans Charitable Organization, we have many goals that challenge us and inspire our Squad to help make our post a better place and serve area Veterans. We also have State and National Projects in which we participate. We represent our Squad and honor our Veteran relatives in ceremonies and dedications.  .

Value

There are two ways to measure Value. The Value you provide to the organization and its goals is significant, but the Value you receive from your participation is essential.
